The results of the 2024 comprehensive assessment, released by the Office of the Guizhou Provincial Assessment Committee, have revealed that Guizhou University (GZU) has ranked first among all provincial universities in the “First-level” category. This marks the fourth consecutive year that GZU has achieved this distinction since the provincial assessment began.

Throughout 2024, the university has remained dedicated to the goal of “strengthening Guizhou University,” a core guideline emphasized by the Provincial CPC Committee and Government. This commitment was underscored during a campus inspection tour by Xu Lin, the Provincial CPC Secretary. The guideline focuses on several key areas: leveraging Party building to foster institutional cohesion and empowerment, upholding fundamentals while breaking new ground through collective wisdom, and enhancing leadership in talent cultivation, discipline development, technological advancement, local service, and distinctive education initiatives. Driven by these objectives, GZU has made significant strides and bolstered its overall strength. The university successfully completed the evaluation for undergraduate programs with the Ministry of Education ahead of schedule and achieved its goal of entering the top 100 mainstream university rankings one year early. These accomplishments reinforce GZU’s progress toward becoming a nationally renowned and internationally recognized comprehensive university, while also providing essential scientific, intellectual, and talent support for Guizhou's modernization efforts.

In the years ahead, GZU will remain committed to pursuing “world-class university” objectives by systematically reviewing best practices and addressing existing gaps. The university will mobilize all available resources to advance connotative development and the “Double First-Class” initiatives. Furthermore, GZU aims to lead the development of a distinctive education system in Guizhou, support the province’s high-quality socioeconomic development, and make substantial contributions to national educational advancement and major strategic priorities. GZU will continue to exemplify leadership in promoting educational excellence and supporting critical national strategies.
