On May 4, People’s Daily published a special feature listing 100 outstanding recipients of the 2023–2024 National Scholarship for undergraduate and vocational students. Among them was Su Zhiqian, a third-year undergraduate majoring in Veterinary Medicine at the College of Animal Science, Guizhou University (GZU), and the sole recipient from Guizhou Province to be featured.
Su has demonstrated well-rounded excellence in academics, research, and practical engagement. He holds one national utility model patent and one computer software copyright. His national-level honors include a First Prize in 19th “Challenge Cup” National College Student Extracurricular Academic and Technological Works Competition, and a Silver Award in the Rural Revitalization category of the 11th China Youth Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition.
As a member of the Communist Party of China, Su delivered a Party lecture themed “Staying True to Our Original Aspiration”, which was recognized as one of the Top 100 National College Student Summer Practice Projects in 2022.
Established by the central government, the National Scholarship recognizes students in undergraduate and vocational programs for their academic excellence and all-round development. For the 2023–2024 academic year, 120,000 students nationwide received the award, with 100 exemplary recipients profiled in People’s Daily.
